Commercial Construction Safety Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Continue developing a company culture which supports safety as a key principle of the organization.
  • Conduct safety audits on various types of construction job sites.
  • Oversee all aspects of safety. Recommends training, and updated policies.
  • Effectively communicate and support Safety & Risk Management policies and procedures to both management and employees.
  • Provide safety training for employees on policies/regulations and procedures.
  • Supervise Safety Auditors and provide leadership and support OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Lead compliance with specific recordkeeping requirements of OSHA, and other regulatory agencies at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
  • Proficient in accident investigation and root cause analysis.

Competencies & Areas of Expertise

  • Develop team of safety professionals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution along with high degree of comfort managing change.
  • Understand the various legal aspects related to risk, compliance, and regulations and relay related information to the Executive Leadership Team.

Essential Qualifications

  1. OSHA 30 required, OSHA 500/510 preferred.
  2. Experience in Commercial Construction required, minimum 5 years.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience as a supervisor in safety capacity.
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Suite of Products.
