The Houston Zoo‘s new 5-story, 146,000 SF Headquarters Building integrates their administrative offices and employee parking with environmentally friendly features such as bird-friendly glass and an employee garden with a cistern for rainwater irrigation. The project also includes backup power generation and doubles as the Zoo’s hub for emergency operations. Precise planning ensured no interruptions to the Zoo’s daily operations during construction. The project is expected to achieve LEED Gold Certification, emphasizing sustainability and commitment to environmentally conscious practices for its Class-A office space.
