State-of-the-Art Technical School Renovation

2026 AGC APEX AWARDS | Finalist

O’Donnell/Snider Construction (OSC) has completed a 97,000 square foot renovation of a 25+ year old warehouse, transforming the aging structure into a state-of-the-art automotive technical school for Lincoln Technical Institute. The technical school has both classroom and lab areas for automotive, welding, electrical & electronic, HVAC, and refrigerant trades. This complex project required significant structural and MEP systems upgrades to support the school’s educational and training functions.
More than 1,200 linear feet of trenching was completed through the existing interior slab, with some sections reaching depths of 8 feet to accommodate new utilities. Structural modifications included cutting new openings in the tiltwall exterior to install windows and storefront systems, allowing for improved natural light and accessibility.
The mechanical and electrical scopes included a complete upgrade of building systems. An additional new 4,000-amp electrical service was installed, along with eight rooftop DOAS units for HVAC. Gas service was upgraded to support the technical equipment used in automotive training programs. Exterior work included a new driveway and updated building facade.
The interior buildout features administrative offices, classrooms, labs, and fully equipped training shops. All areas received new partitions, windows, and doors, along with upgraded lighting, plumbing, mechanical systems, and custom millwork. The project also included improvements to enhance ADA accessibility throughout the facility.
