The Bechtel Houston relocation project involves a total repositioning of their Galleria-area headquarters to two buildings in the already existing CityWest Place office complex. Building Three encompasses a complete renovation of the basement level through level 9. Building Four includes an additional three-floor renovation. The detailed, comprehensive preconstruction process included value engineering solutions, early material procurement, and creating a decommissioning plan to relocate the client’s existing generators and install them at the new site.
The office spaces were completely gutted and rebuilt, removing dated features, materials, and furniture. The new offices showcase modern, industrial interiors with updated technology such as DIRRT walls, custom woodwork features, skyfold partitions, switchable glass, and acoustical fabric ceiling panels. The lobby and elevators received updated cosmetic finishes as well. All of the spaces in both buildings were created with design as well as function in mind, to ensure Bechtel employees can deliver quality service in a modern, upscale environment.
